The Northern Lights Ensemble (Ensemble Nordlys) is committed to breaking the boundaries between music from different epochs. A concert typically includes music from several centuries.

The four instruments – clarinet, violin, cello and piano – form a traditional piano trio set-up with additional clarinet, but can be combined and mixed in countless different ways. This provides a unique opportunity to vary sound and expression and allows for a very broad repertoire ranging from the baroque to contemporary music, even crossing into other genres. Several composers from both Denmark and abroad have provided more than 60 works specifically for the Northern Lights Ensemble.

传统钢琴三重奏加入单簧管，多了一件乐器，却增加了很多种不同乐器组合的可能。这种特殊的乐器配置使乐团拥有了不一样的声音和音乐表现，同时也让他们的曲目从巴洛克到当代音乐极为宽广，甚至经常跨入其它音乐类型。丹麦和世界各地的作曲家先后为乐团特别创作了60余部作品。

The ensemble was founded in 1997 and has since toured in more than 20 countries throughout Europe, Asia and the USA, including cities like New York (Carnegie Hall), London, Berlin, Warsaw (Autumn Festival), Athens, Jerusalem, and others.

In its native Denmark the group performs regularly at venues like the Danish Radio Concert Hall, the Music House in Århus, and at festivals like the Schubertiade in Roskilde, Sorø International Music Festival and Copenhagen Summer Festival.

Since 2006 the Northern Lights Ensemble has presented a concert series in Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen, from which the Danish Radio has broadcast several events. During the 200th anniversary of famous author Hans Christian Andersen in 2005, the group was designated as official H.C. Andersen Ensemble. They have also represented Denmark at The International EU Music Festival in Warsaw.

All four members of the ensemble regard chamber music as the most important aspect of their musical careers. This has made it possible to probe even greater depths musically, as well as allowing for extended periods of touring throughout the year.

The Northern Lights Ensemble has released numerous CDs, and recently received international acclaim for its recording of Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time”.

Viktor Wennesz，clarinet

The Swedish-Hungarian clarinetist, Viktor Wennesz, studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and is one of the most sought after clarinetists in Denmark. He regularly works with the Royal Danish Orchestra, AthelasSinfonietta and Esbjerg Ensemble, among others, as well as being a frequent guest at various festivals. Highlights of his career include winning the Marco Fiorindo International Chamber Music Competition, and performing as a soloist at Tivoli Concert Hall, Copenhagen.

有着瑞典和匈牙利血统的单簧管音乐家维克多·文纳什曾在丹麦皇家音乐学院学习，是丹麦炙手可热的单簧管演奏家之一。他经常与丹麦皇家交响乐团、阿蒂拉斯小交响乐团（AthelasSinfonietta）和艾斯伯格乐团（Esbjerg Ensemble）等合作，他也是各大音乐节的座上宾。他是马可·费欧林多（Marco Fiorindo）国际室内乐比赛获奖者，任哥本哈根蒂沃利音乐厅的独奏家。

Kehan Zhang assistant teacher at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. 2017, he held his debut concert in Copenhagen, as the first chinese violinist who finished the soloist class at Royal Danish Academy of Music; 2014-2017, Advanced Postgraduate (Soloist) of violin at Royal Danish Academy of Music, studied with Prof. SergueiAzizian. 2013-2014, Exchange on Master of Music at Royal Danish Academy of Music, studied with Prof. SergueiAzizian. 2012-2015, Master of Music at Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, studied with Prof. Peiyan Liu. 2008-2012, Bachelor Degree at Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, studied with Prof. Peiyan Liu. 1996-2002, studied with Prof. Xizong Deng, he was a protégé of Leopold Auer. 张可函，丹麦皇家音乐学院演奏家soloist（欧洲演奏最高文凭，演奏博士），丹麦首位中国弦乐独奏家,也是当今国际最年轻的中国小提琴家之一。生于哈尔滨，自幼师从俄罗斯学派宗师邓宗熙教授。2008年考入中央音乐学院，师从我国资深小提琴教育家刘培彦教授。2009 年在文化部主办的文华奖全国小提琴大赛中获奖。2012 年应著名美国小提琴权威安妮·卡瓦菲安教授的邀请，赴耶鲁大学参加大师班，被评价为“具有令人叹为观止演奏技艺的小提琴家”。同年，以中央音乐学院管弦系排名第一，获得保送硕士研究生资格。2013 年作为公派交换生赴丹麦皇家音乐学院学习。2014 年获得丹麦皇家音乐学院小提琴比赛第一名，并以12分满分的成绩考取Soloist，师从圣彼得堡学派谢尔盖·奇奇安教授，自此成为中国第一位考取丹麦演奏家文凭的小提琴家。2017年2月在哥本哈根出道，正式宣布作为国际舞台的小提琴独奏家。同年被皮埃尔·阿莫亚大师收为弟子，成为海菲茨的再传弟子。旅欧期间曾受到著名小提琴教育家鲍里斯·库斯奇尼尔、格哈德·舒尔茨、皮埃尔·阿莫亚、米兰·维特克，以及小提琴家尼古拉·齐耐德与柏林爱乐首席诺亚·本尼迪克-巴格利的亲传指点。

Carl-Oscar Østerlind, cello

Cellist Carl-Oscar Østerlind won first prizes in the Danish String Competition and the Danish Radio P2 Chamber Music Competition, and received the Jacob Gade Award. He studied in Stockholm, Copenhagen and Los Angeles with Ralph Kirshbaum and TorleifThedéen among others, and has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Scandinavia, USA and Mexico. Carl-Oscar has worked as principal cello with the Copenhagen Phil and Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.

KristofferHyldig, piano

克里斯托夫·希迪格，钢琴

Since pianist KristofferHyldig’s debut from Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2010, he has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Royal Danish Orchestra, and Copenhagen Phil. Together with mezzo-soprano HetnaRegitzeBruun, he recorded three CDs for Naxos one of which was nominated for the Danish Music Award. Kristoffer has been awarded several prizes including the Danish Music Critics’ Prize and the Jacob Gade Award. In 2009 he won the special jury prize in the European Union Piano Competition.
